Your support makes a difference this season!

Remember us this Giving Tuesday

Dear friend,

September marked the beginning of my twelfth year serving St. Clement’s Church.

My son was two when I joined this community; next year he heads off to high school. My daughter was not yet born; now she can do more chin-ups than I can.

In the Psalm before Psalm 23, David cries out:

“Posterity will serve [God]; future generations will be told about the Lord,

and proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn, saying that he has done it.” (Psalm 22:30–31)

The story we’ve been entrusted with is not for ourselves alone - but for our neighbour, and our enemy, and the kids not even born yet. And the story goes like this: the deliverance you’ve been looking for? God has already accomplished it in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.

In Advent, we wear bifocals: look down to see God’s deliverance in the here and now; look up to see God at work along the horizon and beyond the edge of our peripheral vision.

We practice such faith for our own kids and for ourselves; and we also proclaim it to a people yet unborn. Because if we don’t, who will?

This Christmas Season, I invite you to make a financial gift to our annual operations fund to support our vision of transforming lives. Partnering with us allows us to share faith with the next generation, support ministry locally and around the world, offer beautiful worship to God, and maintain a physical presence in our neighbourhood with our historic buildings. Thank you for your generosity.

Yours truly in Christ,

The Rev. Canon Andrew P. Federle

Rector, St. Clement’s Church, Toronto
